Nine Interreg Programmes Selected for Tailored Support under InterregGov
The European Commission, in cooperation with InterregGov, has selected nine Interreg cross-border cooperation programmes to receive tailored support for implementing Interreg Specific Objective 1 (ISO1) – Better Cooperation Governance.
Selected programmes:
- Austria–Czechia
- Estonia–Latvia
- Germany–Denmark
- Greece–Italy
- Italy–Austria
- Italy–Croatia
- Italy–France (Maritime)
- Italy–Slovenia
- Latvia–Lithuania
The InterregGov team is currently organising individual meetings with each selected programme to discuss their specific needs and priorities. The outcomes of these meetings, together with the needs identified in the applications, will form the basis for procuring a pool of thematic experts.
The selection and contracting of experts are expected to be completed by the beginning of October 2026.
Once experts are contracted, InterregGov will organise an introductory meeting with each programme. The experts will then work directly with the programmes to prepare a tailored Action Plan, setting out the activities and support to be delivered. The final Action Plan will be agreed and signed by the expert, the Programme and the InterregGov project before implementation begins.
Over the coming months, the selected programmes will work with experts to identify practical approaches, exchange experiences and develop solutions adapted to their cross-border context. The initiative aims to strengthen the implementation of ISO1 while generating valuable lessons and good practices for the wider Interreg community.
Congratulations to all nine selected programmes! We look forward to following their journey and sharing the results along the way.
